We offer several training courses at Sugarbush in both group and individual setting. Our instructors have developed their curriculum’s to educate all levels of shooters on safety, fundamentals, and technique.

GROUP TRAINING:

  • NYS Pistol Permit Training by Defensive Response Training Solutions
    Our concealed carry firearm safety training and basic pistol shooting course meets the content requirements for the new 16 +2-hour curriculum required in New York State.
  • Handgun 101 (Co-ed & Ladies only) by Shefire Training
    Learn the basic mechanics of a pistol and reasons for concealed carry. In this ladies only workshop we will discuss the various types of firearms and, ammunition and the proper way to handle and operate a handgun.
  • Handgun 102 (Co-ed & Ladies only) by Shefire Training
    In this workshop we will discuss Handgun Safety, Grip, Stance, Aim and Dry Fire.
  • Utah Conceal Firearm Permit Course by Shefire Training
    Successful completion will allow you to apply for your Utah CFP. This training is a requirement to obtain your Utah nonresident firearm permit. You will learn the basics of firearm ownership, safety, and how it applies to the home and self-defense. Utah traffic code, uniform laws, weapons laws and justification of force as well as federal laws.   
  • Firearm Safety In The Home by Shefire Training
    This is a four-hour course for safe gun handling that is conducted int he classroom only. Students are taught NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearms accidents; firearms parts; how to unload certain action types; ammunition components: cleaning; care; safe storage of firearms in the home; and the benefits of becoming an active participant in shooting sports. Students will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules Brochure, Basic Firearm Training Program brochure , and a NRA course completion certificate.

Whether you are a first-time buyer, an enthusiast, a first responder, a master marksman, or you are just looking for anonymity when making your firearm purchase. We will match you with one of our firearms sale’s experts in a private setting who will provide you with guidance and recommendations, offering you a hands-on experience, ensuring you find a firearm that suits you best.

Private Shopping: First time buyer 1:1 – 90 Minutes $125

Private Shopping: Experienced buyer 1:1 – 60 Minutes $100

Semi-Private Shopping: 2-3 People – 120 minutes $250 minutes 

 

*Appointments can be extended: $25 per each additional 30 minutes

 

We can also book your private shopping appointment during normal business hours by request. Your visit will take place outside of the showroom to keep your shopping experience private.

YOU AND YOUR GUN   $75 w/ SBA  firearm   $125* w/ non-SBA firearm

A One-hour hands on 1:1 appointment with a certified DRTS/SBA instructor using your own firearm.

  • 30 minutes: safely breakdown and clean your handgun
  • 15 minutes: drawing your gun from a holster putting all five fundamentals together to get your sight picture and dry fire
  • 15 minutes: live fire 5 shots with our sim guns.

Please bring your firearm and holster (if you have one) with you to class.

*When registering online, please select the $50 add-on option if your firearm was not purchased at SBA.

 

GUN CLEANING   $60 w/ SBA  firearm     $75* w/ non-SBA firearm

In this thirty minute 1:1 hands-on handgun maintenance class our certifies instructors will teach you how to safely unload, disassemble, clean, inspect, function test, and re-assemble your firearm. Prepare to get your hands a little dirty as we teach you how to keep your handgun in ready-to-fire condition. Please bring your firearm and a cleaning kit. If you do not have one, they can be purchased before class at a 10% discount.

NYS PISTOL PERMIT: FLORIDA UPGRADE       $75

A thirty-minute appointment with our instructors reviewing NYS Handgun Safety and range time with qualifications. Upon completion you will be certified to apply for your Florida Non-Resident Pistol Permit


CCW INTRO (Conceal Carry) $75

In this sixty-minute appointment you review the basics fundamentals of carrying your firearm. This class includes: Holster Selection, Drawing from concealed (get sight picture and re-holster with both your gun and laser guns), Dry Fire Drills and Target Acquisition.


GUN LAW FAMILIARIZATION    $100

In this ninety-minute appointment we will review gun laws. Perfect for those who were issued permits prior to all of the recent law changes.
